I have specialized in action yachting photography for the past six years, covering both local and major International yachting events, including the Etchells World Titles at Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia and through many other classes down to the far smaller, but just as
intriguing and action packed, IOM One Meter Class of radio controlled yachts.
Whilst a lot of my focus has been on the yachts themselves, I have always been interested in the people sailing them, and the work and levels of dedication involved in bringing their yachts to a level that is competitive, yet still remains fulfilling. A lot of this is seen in the faces of 10 year olds, sailing their sabots and basically, having a ball.
My work has been showcased internationally through magazines, the internet, and at club level. Prints are hanging in offices, boardrooms, private homes and simply put into family photo albums.
Utilizing the digital medium, and having the capacity to upload my images at the end of a days sailing has always been an advantage for families, often separated by half the world, to maybe see the son or daughter, or husband, depicted on the web within hours of finishing a race.
Not all of my photography is devoted to sailing.
Landscapes, conveying the
loneliness of the Australian Bush or desert regions, or the greenery of the tropical shore are also of interest.
